On Tuesday, pictures captured in Nova Kakhovka demonstrated that various structures were encompassed by floodwaters. Additionally, even swans were seen swimming around a government office in the area.
Water levels in Nova Kakhovka seem to be decreasing, but in Kherson, which is downstream, they have not reached their highest point yet.
According to the inhabitants of Oleshky, certain houses in the town are on the verge of being submerged in water. The elderly individuals are stranded on their rooftops, anticipating their rescue.

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), there is no imminent danger to nuclear safety, although they are keeping a close watch on the situation.
In a statement, it was mentioned that if the dam goes below the 12.7m mark, which is the minimum level required to pump water upstream to Zaporizhzhia, there are other options available to keep the nuclear plant cool. These include a massive cooling pond located in close vicinity to the plant.
In addition to that, the dam served as a crucial conduit to transport water from the Dnipro river to Crimea, which is currently under Russian control. This implies that the availability of water in the area is expected to be impacted.
Following the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, Ukraine halted the flow of water from Nova Kakhovka, resulting in a severe shortage of water on the peninsula.
After the complete invasion last year, the Russian military reopened the channel. However, the absence of the dam could once again create a threat to the water flow along the channel if water levels drop.
