On Tuesday afternoon, St Kentigern’s Academy in Blackburn, West Lothian, requested the assistance of emergency services.
At approximately 1:20 PM, law enforcement officials were dispatched to the educational institution. The third-year student, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a medical facility but passed away shortly after.
The police in Scotland are still investigating to determine the complete details surrounding the death.
St. Kentigern’s Academy released a statement stating that the incident that occurred took place only within the school premises and was not related to any other incidents.
The statement mentioned that they have reached out to the parents of students who were impacted and are cooperating with the authorities in their ongoing investigations.
According to Andrew Sharkey, the head teacher, the school community is in a state of shock and sadness after hearing about the unfortunate demise of one of their students.
