The death of a 14-year-old boy in an "isolated incident" on a school’s premises has left the institution devastated.

On Tuesday afternoon, St Kentigern’s Academy in Blackburn, West Lothian required the assistance of emergency services.

At approximately 1:20 pm, law enforcement officials were dispatched to the school. The S3 student, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported to a medical facility but passed away shortly after.

The Scottish police are currently investigating to determine the complete details surrounding the death.

St Kentigern’s Academy released a statement indicating that a particular event took place only within the premises of the school and was not in any way related to any other incidents

The statement mentioned that they have already reached out to the parents of the students who were directly involved and they are cooperating with the authorities as they continue their investigations.

According to Andrew Sharkey, the head teacher, the school community is heartbroken upon hearing the sad news about the death of one of their students.
